About Us
"We are the Music Makers; We are the Dreamers of Dreams" Arthur O'Shaughnessy
What kind of education do you want for your child?
What kind of person would you like your child to become?
- Ready for kindergarten, academically AND socially? We let kids guide us in curriculum development; which means they learn based on their specific interests, through play. They learn math and science, reading and writing, and it's taught in a developmentally appropriate way, so it 's fun.
- Respectful and peaceful, yet assertive? We teach children respect by giving respect; to the children, our environment, ourselves and each other. We teach children positive conflict resolution strategies; from babyhood on. Children learn how to get their needs met in a proactive, positive way, while respecting the rights of others.
- Critical thinkers who make good decisions? We help children learn to ask the right questions, how to figure out their own answers, and to think about their own thinking.
- Happy, intelligent and well-adjusted? Children's brains don't work quite the way adults do. Kids are always learning, but their frontal lobes** (the rational, planning, decision-making part of the brain) won't be fully developed until they're 26! Right now, they MAY be learning that tantrums work for them... although what you may REALLY want them to learn is that they are competent and loved. That's what will make them happy and well-adjusted.
We have parenting classes and resources available to help you understand their thinking and make sure they are learning what they need to learn , so that they can become whatever they truly want to be. In the meantime, your home can be as stress-free as you wish, too.
Our "little school” is based on the belief that our families' objectives for their children are of the utmost importance. We are committed to helping our families attain these aspirations. As a result, a high percentage of our business is from personal and professional referrals.
We would welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the best service in child care.

** "The executive functions of the frontal lobes involve the ability to recognize future consequences resulting from current actions, to choose between good and bad actions (or better and best), override and suppress unacceptable social responses, and determine similarities and differences between things or events. Therefore, it is involved in higher mental functions. The frontal lobes also play an important part in retaining longer term memories which are not task-based. These are often memories associated with emotions derived from input from the brain's limbic system. The frontal lobe modifies those emotions to generally fit socially acceptable norms."
